Estimate of Additional New Construction and Associated Maintenance Needed per Year Between Now and 2030: Two Scenarios

On June 24, 2014, Dr. David Ellis, TTI Research Scientist and Manager of the TTI Infrastructure Investment Analysis Program, presented before the Senate Select Committee on Transportation Funding, Expenditures and Finance two funding scenarios for Texas infrastructure and mobility needs as well as an assessment of additional new construction and maintenance needs from today through 2030. The Current Status of Texas Transportation Infrastructure (Ellis Testimony)

On February 12, 2013, Dr. David Ellis, TTI Research Scientist and Manager of the TTI Infrastructure Investment Analysis Program, provided testimony to the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Articles VI, VII, and VIII.  He responded to a request to address the current status of Texas transportation infrastructure, specifically as it relates to highways; projected Texas transportation needs; and potential future transportation funding solutions.  Oral remarks were reflective of the written statement: Dr. Ellis’ Testimony.

Finance and Economics Researchers Release UTCM Report

August 21, 2012

In a two-year long effort that culminated in June 2012, senior Texas A&M Transportation Institute research scientist Dr. David Ellis examined best practices for determining the economic impacts associated with transportation improvements.  With the help of TTI Finance and Economics researchers Dr. Brianne Glover, and Nick Norboge, Dr. Ellis examined methodologies used in four U.S. states and developed a list of most applicable practices.
